Newport

Big Creek Trails · Newport, Oregon

August 1–2, 2026

About the Venue

We close out the 2026 season at Big Creek, Newport’s compact and wildly fun trail system on the Central Coast — built by the Newport Trail Stewards (NEWTS) in partnership with the City of Newport, and home to one of the most exciting finishes in the series.

Discover the adventure waiting at Big Creek, Newport’s growing mountain bike destination on the Central Oregon Coast! Built with passion by the Newport Trail Stewards (NEWTS) in partnership with the City of Newport, this trail system is a true testament to community spirit and a love for the ride.

While Big Creek is a compact trail system, do not let the size fool you! With loopable trails, fast descents, and fun features, this place has a way of putting a permanent smile on your face. It is the perfect closer for the Ride the Dirt Wave series and a trail system that keeps you coming back for more.

Come join us on the Central Oregon Coast for two unforgettable days of mountain biking, camaraderie, and coastal vibes to close out the 2026 season. See you on the trails!

The Race Course

1.3 miles

Riders drop in on Norm!, a black diamond that means business, then flow onto Dude Sweet — some of the most satisfying flow on the Oregon Coast — before the fast and fun Learning Curves. The finish is an epic jump line that sends riders soaring right in front of the crowd. The perfect ending to the season.

Come celebrate the final gathering of the 2026 Ride the Dirt Wave season with us on the beautiful Newport Bayfront! Join us on the new outdoor patio at Mo’s Original on Saturday, August 1st at 6:00 PM for an evening of great food, live music, and good company.

All participants, families, and friends are welcome. Order from Mo’s extensive menu, enjoy a beverage, listen to live music, and connect with fellow riders as we wrap up an incredible summer of riding together. Everyone is responsible for their own food and beverages. Come hungry, come ready to celebrate, and soak up everything Newport has to offer!

Parking fees are enforced on the Newport Bayfront until 7:00 PM at $1 per hour — pay at the parking kiosks or by scanning the QR code at your space.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers Needed — Newport Dirt Wave Weekend

August 1 & 2, 2026

We could not put this event on without the help of our amazing volunteers — and there are two great ways to get involved this weekend!

Saturday, August 1

Dig Day with the Newport Trail Stewards

Join the NEWTS for a free trail work day at Big Creek Trails before the race weekend kicks off. Give back to the trails you love, connect with the local riding community, and be part of something meaningful before race day. All skill levels welcome — no experience necessary!

Sunday, August 2

Race Day Volunteers

Help us make the Series Finale happen! We need support with course marshalling, parking, timing, and more. It’s a great way to be up close to the race action and be part of the Dirt Wave crew for the final event of the season.

Signing up is free and just takes a few minutes to get your waiver taken care of. We’ll be in touch the week of the event with your schedule and assignment.

Thank you for your support — we truly appreciate every single one of our volunteers and could not do this without you!
